A response to the ‘Hold the line’ coastal defence project at Southsea sea front where I coastal row and often swim. The project is to protect the seafront from flooding due to Global warming and rising sea levels.

A Dolos is a tetrapod abstract form used to dissipate waves.

The tidal line on the textured surface of this sculpture references the sea level and the residues left on the seawall as well as the barnacled rocks below.
